Science Journalist/Communicator accounts are designed for users who write (or produce videos) about science. This account has some extra features designed to help you with this, such as the ability to share links to your content with our userbase, and to ask questions of scientists in a specific field.

Academic accounts are for users who have completed a PhD in a science subject, or are currently studying for one. By requesting an academic account, you confirm that you either hold a PhD in the below subject, or are a postgraduate student at the stated institution. Holders of PhDs who are not currently engaged in research activities may still request acadmic accounts, and should select "independent" as their institution.
